Napoleon- He was a great French general, who won many battles for the revolutionary. France and raised his nation's prestige. There was a time when we had become a terror for all the European monarchs. But, in the end, his limited resource collapsed in the face of the Fourth Coalition of the European nations. He was defeated in the battle of Waterloo in 1815 A.D. and was sent as a prisoner to spend his last days at the Small island of St Helena where he died unsung in the year 1821 A.D.

नेपोलियन फ्रांस का एक महान सेनापति था। उसने क्रांति के दिनों में फ्रांस का मान काफी समय तक ऊंचा किए रखा और उसके नाम को चार चांद लगा दिए। एक समय ऐसा था कि यूरोप के सब देश उसके नाम से कांपते थे। मनुष्य होने के नाते उसकी शक्तियां सीमित थी इसलिए अंत में उसे यूरोप का संगठित शक्ति के सामने झुकना पड़ा। 1815 ईसवी में वाटरलू की लड़ाई में उसकी हार हुई और उससे बन्दी बनाकर सेनट हेलना के टापू में भेज दिया गया जहां 1821 ईसवी में उसकी मृत्यु हो गई।

Third Estate- In 1789 at the time of outbreak of the French Revolution, the French society was divided into the privileged and the unprivileged classes. The unprivileged classes were known as the third Estate. The Third Estate was compromised of the peasants artisans, city workers and the middle class people ( or the bourgeoisie) like teachers, doctors, lawyers, writers, civil servants etc. All such people had no political rights.It where these people who fought against the privileged classes in the French Revolution.

तीसरा वर्ग 1789 ई० मै, जब फ्रांस की क्रांति आरंभ हुई, फ्रांसीसी समाज विशेषाधिकार प्राप्त वर्ग और साधारण वर्ग में बांटा हुआ था। साधारण वर्ग जिसे कोई भी विशेष अधिकार प्राप्त नहीं थे, तीसरा वर्ग कहलाता था। साधारण इस वर्ग में किसान, मजदूर, दस्तकार तथा मध्य वर्ग के लोग जैसे- अध्यापक, डॉक्टर, वकील, लेखक असैनिक अधिकार आदि लोग सम्मिलित थे। इन सभी लोगों को कोई भी राजनीतिक अधिकार प्राप्त नही थे। इन्हीं लोगों ने फ्रांस की क्रांति में विशेषअधिकार वर्ग का विरोध किया था।

Louis XVI was a despotic ruler of French. He was a man of mediocre intelligence and was obstinate. He was the deposed during the French Revolution of 1789 and subsequently, executed in 1793 A.D.

लुइ सोलहवाँ फ्रांस का एक निरंकुश शासक था। वह जिद्दी और बुद्धिहीन व्यक्ति था। उसका चरित्र दुर्बल और स्वभाव अस्थिर था वह सदा भोग विलास में डूबा रहता था। सरकारी अधिकारियों पर उसका कोई नियंत्रण नहीं था। वह सरकारी खजाने को व्यर्थ के कार्यों में लूटाता था। उसके गलत स्वभाव के कारण ही फ्रांस की सरकार को आर्थिक संकट का सामना करना पड़ा। अंत में उसके दोषी स्वभाव के कारण तथा चरित्र अच्छा ना होने के कारण सन 1792 में उसे फांसी दे दी गई।

The directory was a committee of five directors which worked from 1795 to 1799. It failed to solve the problems of the country and because of loose administration, the life of people became quite miserable. At last Napoleon overthrow the directory in 1799.
